Pearce Area Band Club - Supporting the MIGHTY MUSTANG BAND

Parents and students alike must work for many hours each year to ensure that the Pearce Band continues to be recognized as the outstanding band it is. Long hours and volunteer labor go a long way but it also takes money. It would be nice if a school could provide all the funds needed to run all the programs it supports, but this is not possible. However, it does provide money for many of the expenses incurred by our bands. For instance, the school purchases music, most uniforms, some instruments, and also pays for buses to the football games and local competitions. There are some school funds for other expenses incurred by marching and concert bands, but not enough to cover all of the costs. Fund-raising activities and direct payments by parents/students must cover the additional expenses.

Many students and parents raise funds to help cover trip expenses by participating in band fundraisers such as selling magazines, soliciting items for the annual auction, and purchasing a band yard sign. Each year, almost all students earn at least a portion (some have earned all) of their trip fees through fundraising. Fundraisers that will add service recognition to your band account include the PABC auction, band yard sign, and magazine sales.

PABC Auction
Participating in the annual auction by soliciting and obtaining auction items and/or doing volunteer work at the auction will earn service recognition credit on your band statement. The amount of the credit varies according to the value of the item(s) obtained, the amount of volunteer time you/your student spent in preparing for the auction, and the amount of funds raised by the auction. Fall Football Programs
If you find a business to place an ad, or sponsor one of the band's photos in the fall football programs, your account will be credited with some amount of service recognition based on how much the total sponsor income exceeded the budgeted income.

Yard Signs
You probably have noticed yard signs distributed throughout the Pearce Area and want to order your band sign. Yard signs are only $40 and your students' assessment account will be credited with $20 in service dollars for your order. If you already have a yard sign, but need changes, these can be made for a nominal fee of $5, however, no service dollars will be credited for changes.

Magazines
Earn 40% towards the Band Trip!
Each year band students sell subscriptions/renew subscriptions to most of the popular magazines. A student can apply 40% of the total magazine subscriptions he/she sells directly to band assessments. Selling $100 worth of magazine subscriptions will credit your band statement with $40 of service recognition. The big push for sales happens in August, but the sales go on all year - so it's never too late to place an order and get the service dollars! Students will receive catalogs and details (and the chance to win prizes) in August. Students are not allowed to sell door-to-door so start contacting friends and relatives now!

Shirt Sales!
Show your Mighty Mustang Band Spirit! Band parents and siblings are encouraged to purchase and wear red Mighty Mustang Band polo shirts or t-shirts. Orders are taken at the band barbeque in August. The shirts are available in youth and adult sizes, with the Mighty Mustang Band logo in embroidery, and will be personalized with your student's instrument or color guard flags on the shoulder. You will want to wear these shirts to all the football games and pep rallies.

Photo Buttons
Picture day for the band occurs the same day as band registration and uniform assignments. The photographer will take individual pictures of the students in their uniforms and several packages are available. Individual photo packages range from $10 to $50 and payments are made out to the photographer. Button orders are $5 each and payments are made to the Pearce Athletic Booster Club.
